The latest trend in building is to combine work and home. Here’s another one of these Hybrid style buildings and boy oh boy are they fun to build! The “Shop” side is 68′ long and has 3 big 12′ wide by 14′ high overhead doors. Garage doors have come a long way over the past few years and believe it or not … Green is now an available color. What a sharp look as opposed to the by-gone standards of only white or brown.
The “Home” side is a mere 28′ in length, but the ceiling height jumps up to 18′ inside allowing us to build a full second floor. As with typical home construction design, the upstairs will house bedrooms and bathrooms while the first floor provides the main space for gathering, eating and socializing. To distinguish the “Home” side even more from the “Shop” side, we built an 8′ Below Eave Lean To roof that runs across the face of the Home Side and all the way down the adjoining gable end. The homeowners went all in and put stamped concrete underneath to further the front/side porch feel of home.
This building had all the bells and whistles. The interior was completely insulated and lined on the walls and ceilings. 2 Rows of Color Matched Snow Guards provide winter time protection from ice and heavy snowfall over the Seamless Gutters.
